  • Safety of all our participants and surrounding community are front of mind. While we can't share all details (for security reasons), we can share that we have many experienced marshals trained in de-escalation on site, and an extensive safety plan in place.

A core principle behind all NO KINGS events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values, and to act lawfully at these events. Weapons of any kind, including those legally permitted, CAN NOT be brought to events.

Should you encounter any individual(s) looking to stir things up, we ask you to not engage and that you contact the nearest marshal.

A note on signs: While we encourage signs and banners, for the safety of this event, we ask that you do not bring signs mounted on sticks or any object that could be interpreted or used as a weapon.

  • Here are some handy tips for attending the event.

Do Not Bring Chalk Or Stickers
This includes any other writing or marking material to write on the sidewalk or any other surface at the Capitol. While we support freedom of expression, our volunteers are responsible for removing all markings at the end of the event, and washing away markings is a hard task that is easily avoided.

    Dress For The Weather
Come rain or shine, the three kick-off marches and rally at the Capitol will go on. Minnesota weather means conditions can change quickly. So dress in layers and wear comfy shoes you can stand in for a few hours.

    Pack Light

    • Make it easy on yourself, and leave large bags at home.

    • Bring a fully-charged phone.

    • Bring your I.D. and one credit/debit card. Keep it in a secure pocket.

    • Bring non-alcoholic beverages and light snacks. There is no food service or access to water at the event.

    Bring A Sign

    • Make your own sign or download and print one from the No Kings Tool Kit.

    • Do not put your signs on a stick (for safety concerns).

    No Weapons
Weapons of any kind, including those legally permitted, can not be brought to events.

  • To help make purchasing tickets easy, especially when LRT platforms are crowded, we encourage transit users to download the Metro Transit app. METRO Green Line has three convenient stations serving the Capitol Complex: Capitol/Rice Street, Robert Street and 10th Street stations. More information on how to ride and helpful transit information is available on the Metro Transit website or call the Transit Information Center at (612) 373-3333 and they can design a route tailored to your transportation needs.

  • There are many places on and near the Capitol complex to park your bike:

Locations: Public Parking at MN.gov and click on the “Bicycle Racks” tab

Map: Bike Racks and Lockers Locations

  • Parking will be difficult, so we strongly encourage taking public transportation, biking, or carpooling with your friends and family who are also attending the march. By bypassing the Capitol complex, parking downtown Saint Paul and taking transit to any of the three kick-off march locations or the Capitol you can save time and reduce congestion. Areas to park: Lowertown, Union Depot, Xcel/Science Museum ramps. Saint Paul parking information: Parking in Saint Paul | Saint Paul Minnesota

  • Accessibility is a key to ensuring all community members are able to participate in this event. Here are a couple key things to know:

    • An Accessibility Seating section will be located near the stage at the Capitol and will be open to those who require it on a first come, first served basis. Due to limited capacity, one person is allowed to accompany the person needing accessible seating.

    • American Sign Language interpretation will be provided at the Capitol, Saint Paul College and Harriet Island.

    • An ADA drop-off/pick-up area is located at Cedar Street and Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr Boulevard at the Aurora Promenade. Due to road closures around the Capitol, the only way to access this drop-off is via a checkpoint on Cedar Street north of the Capitol.

    • Wheelchair accessible portable toilets will be available in multiple locations around the site. The Capitol will be closed, so there will be NO indoor bathrooms available.

Ramp F is the closest ramp to the rally location, and is only available for those needing accessible parking. Access to that ramp is off Rice St. There are more accessible parking spots in other ramps, too. We have hired pedicabs to help those with limited mobility from Ramp F to the rally site.

  • Due to road closures around the Capitol for the march, vehicles can drop off/pick up passengers with accessibility needs at the ADA pull out on Cedar Street on the east side of Aurora Plaza near the Capitol. The only way to access this drop-off location is via a checkpoint at Cedar Street north of the Capitol — enter at Sherburne and Cedar.

  • Portable toilets (including ADA accessible ones) will be available at the State Capitol in multiple locations. The Capitol will be closed, so there will be NO indoor bathrooms available.

There will be portable toilets at Saint Paul College, Western Sculpture Park and Harriet Island march sites. For those starting the march at Saint Paul College, there is no access to the indoor facilities within the college.

  • To show our commitment to the environment, this is a zero-waste event. If you bring it, please remove it and recycle/compost. There are no trash receptacles available at the rally sites or at the Capitol.

  • To make this a safe event for all participants and for your pet’s safety, please leave pets at home. We love pets but with big crowds, noise and Minnesota weather, this may be a challenging environment for them and not all cultures have the same comfort level with animals. Of course, service animals are welcome.

  • We work hard to make our events safe, fun and welcoming to all. The crowds will be large and it will be noisy. We trust parents to know if their children are old enough and able to manage this environment. Due to the expected large attendance, there will not be any activity tents or play areas for kids at No Kings Twin Cities.

Plan ahead for snacks: There will be no food service or water access at this event. And be ready to pack it in/pack it out.
